30 years of illustration - the entire collection for sale
Aviation artist Joe Milich has decided to make available the single largest collection of aviation illustrations ever created by a single artist since the invention of the aircraft. Starting in 1977, creating this collection of over 1150 illustrations spanned 30 years and countless thousands of hours of artwork, travel and research.
Almost all the original pen & ink illustrations were drawn on 20" x 30" illustration board, and prints in 3 sizes were created from these originals.
The sale of this collection consists of:
- The Exclusive Copyright to all of the existing pen and ink artwork which now totals more than 1150 drawings, and includes recent additions
- All the remaining prints, the total collection of prints is vast in number, too huge to be counted, but may be examined for quality, quantity and estimated.
- Approximately 1000 originals are remaining, as 150 were sold, mostly to those who commissioned the artwork; nevertheless, the prints and copyright are included.
- Negatives and digital scans were used in the making of the prints from the original illustrations, in 3 sizes, 4"x6", 5.5"x8.5", 11"x17". About 95% are line negatives due to the fact digital scanning did not become efficient and reasonable in accuracy until recent years.
- By purchasing this collection, you will own Joe Milich's life work, and some conditions will be applicable in the agreement as to how the work should be handled. This portion can be discussed before any kind of agreement is entered into.
